The final issue of Duke has our title hero battle the robotic B.A.T in the hidden Mars base.
During the battle, Duke finally meets Destro in the flesh. Destro is impressed with Duke and offers him a job, but Duke turns him down. The tech that Duke brought with him is being tracked by the government, and Destro is alerted.
While Duke defeats the B.A.T, Destro has ScrapIron destroy the facility with Duke inside. Duke awakens in the hospital with Hawk and Covergirl by his side. Duke has learned that Destro didn’t create the transforming robots, but someone has. Hawk offers Duke a job: create a team of elite soldiers to take down Destro, Mars, and the transforming robots.
This was a great ending to this wonderful mini-series! This is the book that got me into the Energon Universe, and now I read everything. I’m ready for the Destro and Scarlett mini-series and the future of GI Joe (and Cobra) in the Energon Universe!
