Tom Scioli reinterprets three classic Jack Kirby stories, originally presented in Tem Comics’ Crash Comics Adventure Magazine, featuring Adam Starr and the Solar Legion.

In these three space-age pulp tales, we follow Adam Starr and his Solar Legion as they keep the space lanes free from pirate activity. Starr battles pirates Black Michael and Arthak and creatures Worn-Thing and the Great Gansha while defending Venus and Mars.

While vintage pulp stories, such as those in this book, have very loose continuity, there’s definitely a larger “universe” building here. I love pulp stories, especially space-age or atomic-age science fiction. Scioli does his best in re-presenting Jack’s original tales, and they look amazing. I’ve loved Scioli’s art ever since I read his Fantastic Four Grand Design, and this issue features more great art. If you want to read some old-school Jack Kirby with reinterpreted art by Tom Scioli, you should pick this book up.
